Ran a 62-stop route yesterday in Phoenix using RoadWarrior; a cancellation plus two add-ons re-optimized in 9 seconds, trimming deadhead 13% and saving about $0.07 per stop. Which app handles mid-route inserts/deletes best without blowing time windows or forcing a full replan — if there’s interest, I’ll share my service-time and dwell buffer settings that keep ETA drift under five minutes.
@OP For mid-route adds, Circuit’s been smoother than RoadWarrior — tap “Keep my next stop” then “Optimize remaining” so it inserts without a full replan, and it usually recalcs close to your “9 seconds.” I pad service time to 4 min with a 1 min dwell to keep ETA drift under 4 min; the only caveat is tight 15‑min windows sometimes need a manual nudge.
Ran Route4Me on a 58‑stop day — hitting Re-Optimize with the “lock visited + next stop” option inserted a cancel plus two add-ons without touching my windows in about 6 seconds. It held ETAs better than RoadWarrior when I set service time to 3m and a 1m dwell buffer, but it can get jumpy if your windows are tighter than 10m. Agree with @white25 on Circuit being smooth; I just reach for Route4Me when I need that extra mid-route control.
