This week I started staging the van at 4:55 a.m. into three totes — left-turn loop, right-turn loop, and barks-at-clouds — and shaved 31 minutes off a 102-stop day. Does anyone else triage by driveway length and doorbell rage, or should I patent the Sharpie-on-the-label method?
Love the ‘barks-at-clouds’ bin — I keep a small doorbell/ID stash up front and clear those 9:30–10:15 when folks pick up, then roll the left-turn loop; only caveat: callbox apartments still drag unless you text ahead. You ever batch long-driveway rurals right after sunrise before the dog patrols?
I mark each label with a tiny N/E/S/W and a dot for long driveways, plus a lightning bolt for ‘doorbell rage’ so those bunch into one pass without me thinking. Only caveat: in rain I swap the long-driveway batch earlier when numbers pop better — do you shift your left/right loops around school drop-off windows? If you patent the Sharpie, charge us by the line.
