Hot Take of the Week: Gig apps are making delivery jobs less stable, not more flexible

Is the gig economy actually hurting drivers’ livelihoods, or do the benefits outweigh the risks?

Net negative - the flexibility’s real, but the income swings and sudden policy tweaks make it hard to rely on. Last month in Charlotte my base pay on two apps dropped about a dollar and a $2 peak vanished mid-shift, and my hourly slid from around $21 to $13.
