Flexible delivery hours make this doable

I do deliveries on the side a few nights a week — usually 7–9 pm after my day job — and the fact I can hop on between dinner and kids’ homework is the only reason it fits. Anyone else running short 60–90 minute blocks and have a take on which app handles pauses or quick logoffs best without wrecking your ratings?

I’ve had the smoothest 60–90 min runs on Uber Eats — finish a drop, tap “Go Offline,” and you’re out, no ratings hit; DoorDash’s pause works but auto-resumes, and Grubhub can ding you if you drop a block. If you’re juggling kids’ homework too, @OP, have you tried scheduling on DD then switching to UE for the quick pit stop?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

For 60–90 min windows between dinner and homework, I’ll schedule a DoorDash dash 7–9, decline shop-and-deliver and anything over about 5 miles, then end the Dash after the last drop — ratings stay fine; only completion rate takes a hit if you unassign mid-order. @christopher92 do you ever switch to a smaller zone at that hour to avoid 20+ min pickups?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

And i do the same 7–9 window, and the trick on Uber Eats is tapping “Stop new requests” a few minutes before you need to log off so you just finish the current drop and bounce without a ratings hit. Only annoyance is an add‑on can sneak in if you hit it mid-offer, so I wait until I’m parked and between pings. What market are you in — dense zones make that feature way more predictable “between dinner and kids’ homework.”.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

That “between dinner and kids’ homework” window only works for me if I nuke time-sinks: in DoorDash I disable Shop & Deliver and Alcohol in Preferences and set an 8:55 alarm, then End Dash after the last drop — otherwise , one shopping order eats the whole block. Small caveat: if you need to hop on unscheduled, Top Dasher’s Dash Anytime helps, but babysitting the accept rate is a pain. @OP does your zone show the Shopping toggle yet?
