Day 4 as a delivery driver and I’m still figuring out how to keep 38 stops organized without turning the van into a tornado. Any tricks for apartment buildings with buzzer codes and no parking at 5 p.m. downtown, or do you just log the delay in the app and move on?
And i keep the van from tornado mode by tossing all apartment/buzzer-code packages into one front tote and writing the code on the label or app note — one grab-and-go so the ‘38 stops’ don’t get shuffled. For the 5 p.m. downtown mess, I pay for one meter or a loading zone, stack 3–4 on a small dolly, hazards on, and log the delay if anyone chirps — , but it’s faster than circling; SpotHero helps: https://spothero.com. What app are you on?
, downtown at 5 p.m. is brutal. I park legally on a side street once, then do a quick “last‑mile loop”: load the next 5–7 apartment/buzzer stops into a tote, roll a small cart, and clear that block on foot so I’m not circling; binder clips by floor keep the van from tornado mode… I keep a building note with buzzer codes and pre-load the next cluster at a red light — only log delay if the lobby is a dead end; @ebrown95’s tote tip is gold — do you have a couple buildings you can hit just before 5 to dodge the worst?
I record a 10‑second voice note at each tricky building — “panel by mailboxes, #0213 for 307” — and attach it to the stop so the next run is brainless; if the panel changes, I just snap a photo instead… @grace6623 do photos or text stick better for you?
